To be recognized as an outstanding national and international reference research and training center for the diagnosis and monitoring of epidemiological and medical diseases. 

Mission:

The mission of the Medical Research Center at Jazan University is to promote and conduct high quality applied medical research in Jazan region in particular and other medical problems in general, and contributes to developing preventive and therapeutic plans. 

Strategic Goals:

1. To conduct research on infectious diseases circulating in the area.

2. To conduct biomedical and laboratory research through using  the latest technologies.

3. To conduct clinical research in Jazan's hospitals.

4. To conduct field research, statistical monitoring of the environment, work on early detection of epidemics and identify the risks and approaches of controlling, treating, and/or these diseases

5. To cooperate with other specialized scientific research entities within and outside the Kingdom with a goal to develop therapy, improve medical care and health in the Kingdom, in general, and medical specialties in particular.

6. To cooperate with health authorities and educational institutions within and outside the Kingdom to raise the level of awareness and health education among community members.

7. To build competence and promote professionalism in the national workforce in the field of medical research.

8. To issue health pamphlets and specialized scientific medical journals.
