1. Epidemiology and Biostatistics Research Unit:
 
 Dealing with environmental monitoring and working on the early detection of epidemics and the causes, in order to identify the risks and the appropriate approaches to control and treat these diseases. The Unit conducts research of occupational safety, performance evaluation and quality assurance.

2. Epidemic and Tropical diseases Research Unit:

The unit conducts research on infectious diseases circulating in the area, such as Rift Valley Fever, Malaria, Dengue Fever, Schistosomiasis and Leishmaniasis.

4. Biomedical Research Unit:

Dealing with animal experimentation and research on poisons, medicinal herbs and plants, laboratory research and use of molecular biology  and genetics techniques, medical nanotechnology, electron microscope and cell culture (including stem cells and tissue culture).

5. Clinical Research Unit:

This Research unit deals with blood diseases, high blood pressure, liver disease and the diseases of the digestive system,  infertility and assisted reproductive technology to address the problems of low fertility and late pregnancy and childbearing in the region.
