Introduction:

The research priorities, although not prescriptive, provide a strong sense of direction and will assist in meeting the challenge of facilitating the medical faculty Jazan University participation in research outcomes and emerging opportunities. This will be more targeted in the future with the articulation of a clear and shared sense of our key priorities for research and innovation and their contributions to the health and development in Jazan Region.

The JMRC launched the call for stakeholder feedback on setting Research Priorities for through the distribution of forms for submission of proposed research priorities. The form was distributed to over 100 key research stakeholders. This was backed by a letter for Deans of Health Colleges

The IRB the scientific advisory committee, on behalf of JMRC, and in collaboration with stakeholders (Medical colleges and Jazan Directorate of Health), prepared the research priorities to promote research that will address the health problems in Jazan region and the Kingdom at large.

Vision:
Jazan Medical Research Center research priorities will promote research and innovation in medical research in Jazan University. Moreover, it will draw upon local and national resources to address the challenges in health and development in Jazan Region.

Mission:
 To contribute to the vision by providing independent, objective, and expert scientific and medical research on four fields (Biomedical, Tropical and Endemic Diseases, Clinical Studies and Epidemiology and Biostatistics) with themes for each field.
 To conduct high quality research related to the above mentioned fields (with emphasis on local health problems in Jazan region) & to promote collaborative work with National and International Research Centers.
 To provide training and professional development in scientific research for Jazan University community.

Objectives:
The primary objective of the Jazan Medical Research Center is to enhance the research and training efforts of the basic, clinical and public health scientists in Jazan University. Secondary objectives are to facilitate collaborative studies among Jazan University community and attract other scientists to it.
Jazan University faculty members include some of the most respected names in their specialties and bring a wealth of experience to their work.
